There are still notes of ripe plums and raspberries in this full-bodied effort but also a firm core of dusty tannins to ensure more than a decade of longevity. It’s a blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre from a clay-rich, north-facing slope.

There are healthy and seductive aromas on the nose along with succulent black plum, spiced cherry compote and blackberry skin before elegant brown baking spices lift out of the glass with resinous red and purple flowers. Full-bodied, big and juicy, with plenty of oak, the palate offers a fine mineral tension, harmoniously balanced fine-grained tannins and succulent acidity. The wine continues to somersault and uncoil across the bold, long-lingering and generous finish that leaves behind a firm tannic edge. Give this at least two more years in the bottle before opening, but I suspect it will be better with three. Bravo! It has background espresso-laced oak that’s perfectly integrated, it’s full-bodied, and it has ripe, polished tannins and a great finish. All this shows the direction, where he found structure and volume in the palate, with textured tannins. It’s harmonious and elegant, aromatic and floral, perfumed and showy, with contained ripeness and around 14% alcohol. The palate is quite powerful, with abundant but fine tannins. 110,000 bottles were filled in July 2022. The focus here is on the freshness of the fruit rather than richness or extraction, and the cooler vintage has done its part to shape these results. Sour cherry and tart berry cede to spice, tar, tobacco and potting soil. Have it with a vegetarian pizza. Some 25,000 bottles were made.

The wine shows classic notes of tar and licorice, with smooth tannins and ripe dark-fruit flavors that make it approachable in its youth.
VN100100 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2019 The 2016 Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn is a fabulous, incredibly complete wine that soars out of the glass with explosive structure and vertical lift. The tannins are very much present, but also matched beautifully by the wine’s aromatic intensity and overall drive. Dark macerated cherry, spice, leather, licorice, plum and mocha add darker shades of nuance. In 2016, Sorì Tildìn is a bit more brooding and bigger than it often is, and yet all the elements are impeccably balanced. It is quite simply a majestic wine of real grandeur and total class, but it is not obvious. Sorì Tildìn will appeal most to readers who understand what the truest essence of Nebbiolo is all about. Incredible on the palate, with medium to full body, an incredible, seamless texture, ultra-fine tannins, and a monster finish. The tannins here are unquestionably on another level and are perfectly ripe, and this just about off-the-charts 2016 has a Grand Cru Red Burgundy-like texture, elegance, and stature. This bottle didn’t hit prime time until the second day, so either give bottles a healthy decant or, even better, 5–7 years in a cold cellar. The 2016 Barbaresco Sorì Tildìn is open, more concentrated and structured. There are pretty floral notes of rose hip or wild rose in this generous wine of broad scope. We’re talking about smaller fruit here, with plums, cassis, blackberry and plenty of power. Everything came to perfect maturity in this 2016 vintage, representing that rare merge of quantity and quality. This is what you get from the dense soils of the warm, south-facing Sorì Tildìn site and similar ones where the terrain can keep the moisture locked in. Drink or hold.RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 21st Apr 2022 The 2020 Dry Riesling comes in with seven grams of residual sugar and 12.1% alcohol. This is a blend of vineyards, often a very good value in the somewhat pricey lineup. It is again. This year, in its youth, it has a touch of sugar around the edges, a friendly feel and a lush finish. It doesn’t have the steely hints that, relatively speaking, the 2019 could sometimes project, granting that they are not here together. They look the same on paper, but at least from recollection, they are at least a little different in style, feeding into the stereotypes of the 2019/2020 vintage styles. There is certainly reasonable acidity on the finish here with some tension cutting the fruit and sugar, but this is firmly in the friendly puppy style. If someone told me it was close to a semi-dry, I wouldn’t necessarily have been shocked. The very good news, though, is that it is simply delicious, likely to be a crowd-pleaser and something that will put smiles on faces at a very nice price.
