JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, May 24, 2023 Lovely brightness of fruit here, with dark plums, cherries, raspberries and chocolate orange. Some tobacco leaves, too. Roasted espresso notes come through. Full-bodied with creamy, broad tannins. Excellent concentration and depth. Drink from 2025. (James Suckling)
SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2022 Precision meets torque with this deeply structured red, which is intense with black currant, olive, clove and other dusky spices. Builds tension toward well-buffed tannins. Hands off for now. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Best from 2023 through 2030. 902 cases made.
JS9696 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Wednesday, May 24, 2023 Attractive nose of blueberries, dark plums, dark chocolate, orange zest, cinnamon and violets. It’s full-bodied with delicious ripeness and plushness. Broad, muscular tannins. Pretty spice and chocolate character at the end. Long and caressing. 83% cabernet sauvignon, 12% malbec and 5% petit verdot. Drink from 2024. (James Suckling)
JD9090 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/6/2021 An eclectic blend of 38% Sangiovese, 35% Zinfandel, 18% Blaufrankisch, and 9% Malbec, the 2019 Abbot’s Table spent a year in neutral French oak prior to bottling. Bright plum and wild strawberry fruits as well as flowery herb notes emerge from the glass, and it’s medium-bodied, with a beautifully balanced, elegant character, good acidity, and a great finish. Drink this pure, juicy, elegant red over the coming 4–6 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
WE8989 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2022 Aromas of jasmine, flower, apricot and peach lead to medium-sweet stone-fruit flavors. The sweetness and acidity play well off each other. It brings a lot of value. (Sean P. Sullivan)

RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 22nd Oct 2020 Dark ruby with purple highlights, the 2017 Pollard Vineyard Red Wine offers seductive aromas of blackberry essence, dark cherry, juicy plum, turned earth and worn leather with subtle baking spices. A blend of 44% Cabernet Franc, 37% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine is medium-bodied and shows impeccable balance with a clearly defined framework of fruit. The expression is velvety on the palate, with a delicate but persistent finish. It’s a beautiful wine!VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2019 Bright, moderately saturated ruby-red. A faint note of musky reduction to the aromas of dark raspberry, flowers, mint and milk chocolate. Suave and smooth on entry, then easygoing and fine-grained in the mid-palate, with enticing floral lift to the moderately dense black and blue fruit and licorice flavors. I find this wine a bit more harmonious and filled in than the ’16 version, but then these vines are still very young (this ’17 was from just the fourth leaf). Suaver and longer than the 2016 release, with the tannins better supported by fruit. Not a sweet style, but this blend will give early pleasure. The Pollard wines are gently priced for serious Washington reds.
JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 6/14/2023 I loved the 2018 Red Blend Pollard Vineyard from Robin Pollard, and this might be the finest wine I’ve tasted from this vineyard. A blend of 40% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, it has a pretty, perfumed bouquet of red and blue fruits, leafy tobacco, cedarwood, and spring flowers. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, balanced, elegant red with polished, fine-grained tannins, wonderful purity, and a great finish. All about finesse and elegance, it will evolve for 10–15 years if well stored. (Jeb Dunnuck)
WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 3/1/2022 A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot and 1% Syrah, this is a side project for actor Kyle MacLachlan, and it’s a show stealer. Aromas of dark roasted coffee bean, vanilla, black cherry, cedar and spice lead to sumptuous, textured, layered dark fruit and spice flavors. It’s flat-out delicious, putting a premium on hedonism. It roars out of the gates but will only get better with some time in the cellar. What a value.
JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - April 15, 2020 The flagship 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley is all Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in new barrels (mostly Taransaud and Darnajou). Beautiful crème de cassis, graphite, spice box, and lead pencil notes all flow to a full-bodied, soft, elegant wine that has beautiful tannins, no hard edges, and a seamless texture. It shows the more upfront, charming style of the vintage and is already hard to resist. Nevertheless, it should easily evolve for 20+ years. (Jeb Dunnuck)JS9797 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, November 30, 2020 Really juicy and savory at the moment with beautiful freshness and linear tightness that frames the wine. It’s full and flavorful with currants, coffee and walnuts. Mahogany, too. The tannins are polished and spread across the palate. Accessible and hard not to drink now, but will age wonderfully, too. Drink or hold.RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 8th Apr 2021 Revisiting the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon at a year on, the wine remains bold and structured and has had a bit more time to come together and harmonize. The wine remains generous on the nose with sweetness of fruit and a glossy character, which offers chocolaty undertones in the glass with aromas of lavender and black cherry that are still persistent on the nose. Full-bodied, the tannins are beginning to round with an additional year in bottle. At the same time, the palate offers layers of dusty blackberry essence and juicy plums with elegant baking spices from the 100% new French oak aging before ending with a rich, juicy and intense finish. The original score and drink date still stand.VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020 Bright medium ruby to the rim. Very ripe aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice pastille, bitter chocolate, cocoa powder and minerals, lifted by a note of lavender; just this side of liqueur-like. Dense, sweet, silky and firm, with wonderfully suave, dense flavors of dark berries, bitter chocolate and violet dominating. This savory wine finishes with a slowly building whiplash of flavor and the sophisticated seamless tannins to support a long evolution and graceful evolution in bottle. I still give the edge to the 2016 for its energy and lift, but this very deep, youthfully medicinal wine is potentially great as well. Real nobility of texture here (it saturates every square millimeter of the palate) and outstanding palate-staining length. Lots to come!WE9696 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 10/1/2020 This is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, with fruit coming from Horse Heaven Hills sites Champoux, Lake Wallula, Palengat, and Wallula. It’s aromatically brooding out of the gate, with notes of cherry meats, barrel spice and incense, not yet ready to reveal its charms. Dense, focused, layered, almost creamy-feeling fruit flavors follow. It is coiled up tightly right now but has all of the stuffing to go the distance and then some. Best from 2030–2037.WS9494 pts. - Wine & Spirits - October 1, 2020 Quilceda Creek’s flagship cabernet, this is a blend of four vineyards, including estate fruit from Palengat and Champoux, in the Horse Heaven Hills. It’s seamless, balanced and exceedingly well tailored, the scents of tar, tanbark and briar set against bright red fruit in a firm, sinewy package. A wine for lamb.
RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th May 2023 The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a lush, silky, rich, round nose with fresh and ripe notes that seduce and delight. Full-bodied, fresh and yet still tight, the wine offers a balanced structure and lifting tannins that elevate the mid-palate followed by juicy, fruit-forward layers and delightful oak spices. The Cabernet continues to show its depth and breadth, compounding its natural beauty. The Cabernet lingers on the ever-evolving, food-friendly finish and will benefit from another two years of bottle aging. The wine rested for 22 months in 100% new French oak. 5,450 cases produced. (Anthony Mueller)VN9696 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023 The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley opens slowly. At first dark and understated, it gains lovely floral perfumes with each passing swirl of the glass, as rose-tinged black raspberries evolve, laced with nuances of sandalwood, lavender and dark, dark chocolate. This floods the palate with an elegant wave of ripe red and black fruits complemented by sweet exotic spice, all expertly lifted by a core of zesty acidity. The 2020 leaves balsamic nuances, with clove and cherry liquor, while tapering off lightly structured with fine yet silky tannins. The balance and energy here is remarkable for such a powerful young wine. The 2020 hails from 90% Champoux to 10% Mach One Vineyard’s. (Eric Guido)
RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Jun 2017 A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc, the sensational 2014 Palengat Vineyard is loaded with notions of chocolate covered plums, licorice, roasted herbs, and graphite/lead pencil shavings. Up there with the of the top vintages of the cuvee, this full-bodied, rounded and hedonistic 2014 shines in the vintage, has no hard edges, gorgeous purity, and plenty of ripe, sweet tannin. It’s a serious mouthful of a Cabernet and will drink nicely for 10–15 years.VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2017 Bright red-ruby; not hugely saturated. Alluring, high-toned aromas of cassis, boysenberry and gingerbread spices. Suave and fine-grained, offering a lovely balance of sweetness of berry fruit and harmonious acidity; uncommonly complex, as the ripeness ranges from lightly herbal to nearly overripe without crossing either line. This plush, broad wine really vibrates on the long, subtle, slowly building finish, which features fine-grained tannins.
JD9696 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 7/9/2022 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Classic is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon but includes 12.5% each Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, all from the In The Rock Vineyard. It spent 22 months in 50% new oak. Ripe plums, currants, wild strawberry, sweet tobacco, dried flowers, and hints of iron all emerge from this gorgeous wine that’s medium to full-bodied, has a ripe, seamless mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. The texture and balance are spot on, and while it’s already incredibly complex, it should easily evolve for 15–20 years if well stored. (Jeb Dunnuck)
