Michelle makes the best bang-for-buck riesling out there, period. This one leads with complex scents of celery and passion fruit, along with a candied peach note. It’s off-dry with a thrust of sweetness that’s broad and appealing.

Hot stones, wild herbs, ripe plums, blackberries and vanilla on the nose. Full-bodied with fine tannins. Vibrant and complex. Atop the core of ripe dark fruit there is ground baking spice, oregano and white pepper. Very steady. Drink or hold.WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2022 Fruit and barrel intertwine on the aromas, with notes of char, roasted coffee bean, vanilla and dark fruit. The palate is creamy in feel, showing intensity and sophistication. Baking spice notes linger on the finish. Oak plays a prominent part but plays it well. (Sean P. Sullivan)JD91+91+ pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 7/9/2022 Ripe black fruits, smoked herbs, graphite, and spicy, peppery herb and floral notes emerge from the 2018 Syrah Baby Bear, a medium-bodied, elegant, incredibly pretty, balanced Syrah that can be drunk today or cellared for 8–10 years. This estate continues to play at a very high level, and this is another terrific wine. (Jeb Dunnuck)WS9191 pts. - Wine & Spirits - 02/22 This burly wine has so much richness that, in all your luxuriating over it, you may overlook the woodland scents of mushrooms, the amaro flavors and foresty tannins. Winemaker Daniel Wampfler has managed to build a great deal of complexity into a big syrah.
SP8787 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 15, 2022 Snappy and lively, with tutti-frutti pineapple and pear flavors that finish with toasty oak accents. Drink now. 805,000 cases made. (Tim Fish)
JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/6/2021 The 2018 Syrah The Beautiful Powerline Vineyard comes from a vineyard outside of Walla Walla, in the foothills of the Blue Mountains. It was not destemmed and was brought up in neutral, larger barrels. An exotic nose of ripe blue and black fruits, lavender, sappy flowers, and herbes de Provence-like nuances give way to a medium to full-bodied, richly textured, structured wine with a mouth-filling, layered, meaty style that builds nicely with time in the glass. There’s always a sappy, almost herbal edge to this beauty, and it ages beautifully. Feel free to open bottles any time over the coming 15–20 years. It would certainly be hard to pick out in a lineup of top Northern Rhône Syrahs. (Jeb Dunnuck)SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2022 A potent red, deeply structured yet dynamic, with blackberry, crushed stone, cured meat and black olive accents that gather richness and polish toward medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2032. 1,128 cases made.VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2022 The 2018 Syrah The Beautiful is clone 470 with a touch of Viognier co-fermented, aged in 30% new French oak puncheons before bottling. The Viognier brings beautiful honeysuckle tones alongside crème de violette and suggestions of baking spices. The salinity here is outstanding as blackberry compote, black tea and exotic spices mingle with the seamless texture and gorgeous length. Enjoy this outstanding bottling over the next eight-plus years.

Drink now through 2028. 145,000 cases made. (Tim Fish)WE8888 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 11/1/2022 Aromas of rose petal, dried herb, chocolate and cherry lead to pleasing dark-fruit and chocolate flavors that paint around the edges, considerably lighter in the middle. JS9696 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, April 22, 2022 Ripe currants, plums and suede on the nose. Full-bodied with chewy, fruit soaked tannins. Best after 2026.SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2022 Broad-shouldered and intense in structure, with handsome blackberry, black tea, clove and other spices. Builds tension toward firm tannins. Built for the cellar. Best from 2023 through 2030. 2,941 cases made.
SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023 A dynamic Cabernet that shows polish and tension, along with expressive blackberry, mocha, espresso and dusky spices that drive toward medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2032. 473 cases made. (Tim Fish)VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon grumbles up from the glass with a darkly alluring mix of black currants, crushed ashen stone and hints of mocha. This soothes with silken waves of mineral-tinged dark red fruit and sweet spice as grippy tannins slowly mount toward the close. While structured and leaving the palate saturated in primary concentration, the 2019 maintains a wonderfully energetic feel as nuances of dried black cherry and tobacco slowly fade. Give this a few years of cellaring to allow its oak to integrate and then drink heartily over the next decade. (Eric Guido)
VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023 The 2021 Sémillon is sweetly scented, with dusty white flowers, vivid yellow apple and chamomile forming its bouquet. This is suave and opulent on the palate, yet perfectly balanced by brisk acidity, as a mix of ripe tropical fruits and florals cascade throughout. The 2021 finishes with remarkable length, both crisply refreshing and potent, with kiwi and mango notes that linger. I love the inner sweetness here, in spite of its zero grams of residual sugar. What a treat. (Eric Guido)SP8989 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2022 Fragrant and sleek, with delicate lemon custard, spice and jasmine flower accents that glide on a textured finish. Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now. 4,500 cases made. (Tim Fish)

WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022 The Bolt is made predominantly with fruit from own-rooted vines growing at approximately 1,200 feet above sea level in the Goose Mountain block of Goose Ridge Ranch. It is graceful and balanced, with juicy acidity, sturdy tannic structure and restrained alcohol. With its aromas and flavors of Bing cherries, salted black licorice, orange blossoms, freshly cut grass and a savory note of pan-seared steak with fresh rosemary, this is a stunning value. (Michael Alberty)SP8989 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023 A zesty red, open-knit and lively, with black cherry and toasty espresso flavors that finish on a snappy note.
