JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Sunday, December 5, 2021 Perfumed cabernet with aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, raspberries, thyme, violets, crushed stones and cloves. Full-bodied with firm, grainy tannins. Structured and concentrated. Better after 2023.RP92+92–94 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 18th Mar 2021 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the gate with loads of blueberry preserves and stewed black plums notes on the nose with faint suggestions of redcurrant jelly and rose hip tea plus a waft of wild sage. Full-bodied and jam-packed with ripe black and blue fruit, it has a soft texture and perfumed finish. 10,000 cases are due to be made. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is polished, nuanced and so delicious. Silky and floral, with vibrant red-toned fruit, the Napa Valley Cabernet delivers the goods. It is a positively stellar wine from Amici. I loved it. (Antonio Galloni)JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/10/2022 Made with the goal of great Napa Cabernet at $50 bucks, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley succeeds admirably, offering gorgeous cassis, violet, and chocolaty aromatics as well as medium to full-bodied richness, a balanced, layered mouthfeel, and silky tannins. It competes with wines at three times the cost. The blend is 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% each of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, aged 20 months in 75% new barrels. (Jeb Dunnuck)
JD9696 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/10/2022 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa Valley comes from a mix of all the single vineyards. Readers should never overlook this type of wine, as the ability to blend from multiple sites gives winemakers incredible flexibility, and these wines can represent smoking values. Full-bodied aromas and flavors of currants, chocolate, lead pencil, and graphite emerge from this beauty, and it’s ripe, mouth-filling and balanced, with a great texture. It’s in the running for the best Napa Cabernet Sauvignon at the price point. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP94+94–96 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 18th Mar 2021 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is composed of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it prances out of the glass with showy notes of warm cassis, baked black berries, Black Forest cake and menthol, plus suggestions of cardamom and licorice. The medium to full-bodied palate is refreshing and elegantly styled with bags of juicy, expressive black fruits and a satisfyingly savory finish. 1,600 cases are due to be made.VN9494 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022 The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is an outrageously beautiful wine. As I have written here before, the Reserve more than holds its own next to the vineyard designates. I adore the Reserve for its opulence, grip and intensity. Blackberry jam, chocolate, licorice, espresso, lavender and dried herbs build over time, but the Reserve is a wine to admire for its completeness. And, it is a steal in the world of high-end Napa Valley Cabernets.

JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/26/2021 The 2018 Eaba is another wine from Jim that puts its foot firmly on the ripeness pedal and offers a blockbuster-like style of ripe black fruits, wood smoke, cured meats, and peppery goodness. Full-bodied and concentrated on the palate, it’s flawlessly balanced, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 10–12 years or so. The 2018 is 59% Syrah, 23% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, and the rest Viognier, aged 22 months in 50% new French oak. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP9595 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Oct 2021 Deep purple-black, the nose opens with boisterous, rip-snorting scents of plum preserves, blackberry pie, licorice and wild sage, giving way to underlying nuances of candied violets, espresso and charcuterie. The full-on, full-bodied palate is jam-packed with decadent black and blue fruit preserves layers, framed by bright acidity and beautifully plush tannins, finishing long and spicy. Yum!VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2021 The 2018 EABA is another impressive wine in this range. Ample and explosive in the glass, the 2018 hits the palate with masses of dark fruit, chocolate, spice, leather, tobacco and menthol. Bright savory accents from the 60% stems lend energy and freshness. EABA is mostly Bien Nacido fruit, with dollops from White Hawk, Larner, Harrison-Clarke and Alta Mesa.
JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/29/2022 Moving to the 2019s from bottle, the 2019 Grenache offers a slightly more floral and perfumed style, with kirsch liqueur, herbes de Provence, sandalwood, and licorice. This carries to a medium to full-bodied Grenache that has a seamless, layered texture, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. It’s a more ethereal, perfumed, ultra-fine effort that will drink well for 15 years or more. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP95+95+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022 The 2019 Grenache is blended with 11% Mourvèdre, 6% Syrah and 4% Graciano and was made using 65% whole clusters. Fruit comes from the Slide Hill Vineyard in Edna Valley, and the Alta Mesa Vineyard, Larner Vineyard and Harrison-Clarke Vineyard in Santa Barbara County. It was matured for about 21 months in 50% new French barriques and 600-liter demi-muids and 50% used French barriques. Deep ruby in color, it opens with savory tones of tar and loamy earth that give way to potpourri, cinnamon stick, prosciutto and black cherries. The medium-bodied palate is bright and juicy with fragrant fruits, fine, grainy tannins and bright acidity, and it has a very long, latent, spicy finish hinting at further improvement in bottle. Bottled on August 21, 2021, and tasted May 25, 2022, it will be released to consumers in the summer of 2022. 395 cases and a few magnums are available; it will be packaged and sold as a three-bottle set ($330), while magnums will be offered as a box set with the 2019 Andremily EABA. (Erin Brooks)
JD98+98–100 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 8/26/2021 Another magical wine in the lineup, the 2019 No 8 is Syrah-based, with 9% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier. There should be a little over 800 cases produced, and it was 55% destemmed and is still resting in 65% new French oak. I love its freshness and elegance, and it’s one of those rare incredibly hedonistic yet seamless, weighty wines that does everything right. Pure cassis, blackberries, smoked meats, and white pepper slowly emerge on the nose, and it’s full-bodied, with perfect balance and a great, great finish. (Jeb Dunnuck)RP95+95–97 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 7th Oct 2021 Deep purple-black in color, notes of stewed plums, ripe boysenberries and juicy blackberries charge out of the gate, followed by hints of root beer, smoked meats, black truffles and hoisin. The full-bodied palate has beautiful freshness with a provocative peppery note and bags of ripe, rich black fruits, finishing long and spicy. Due to be bottled in mid-August 2021, 850 cases and a few magnums will be made.
